The Bit Players series takes you deep into the heart of a high school drama program with its creativity, camaraderie, politics and, well, drama. It is one of the few Young Adult series set in the musical theatre world.
In each book, the students make a popular or classic story (Twilight, Wuthering Heights, Seussical) into their own musical while dealing with friends and enemies, questions of identity, a mysterious exchange student, a missing teacher, secret texters, and looming college applications, not to mention their long-term futures.
For each show, they write an original script, plus lyrics to go with the music from existing modern and traditional songs. The lyrics are provided in the novels so readers can follow, and maybe even sing, along.
