I am honored to announce that Smoky Quartz has published my short story Two Kinds of People in their Fall 2021 issue.
Two Kinds of People was a labor of love for me, a way to breathe life into a character that otherwise would have been left comatose after my forthcoming novel was cut for length. I wrote about that in an earlier post, if you’re interested in the background.
Otherwise, I invite you to read the short story, and let me know what you think. It’s a modern story dealing with some modern and some, sadly, timeless issues. And similar to the old-school short stories I love, it has a twist ending.

Smoky Quartz is the online journal of the Monadnock Writers’ Group and has been showcasing poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, art and photography in its pages since 2012.
The Monadnock Writers’ Group “is a non-profit organization established by a group of writers from the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire in 1984…[We] offer fellowship and support to professional and novice writers alike.
